Instructs and supervises personnel in the performance of cleaning and general maintenance. Trains, instructs, and schedules personnel in performing their duties. Work is performed under the general supervision of a Custodial Supervisor and the Manager of Custodial Services. Must be responsible and dependable.
Essential Job Functions
1. Responsible for the general security of the building assigned.
2. Plans and schedules work for employees.
3. Trains, instructs, supervises, and assists personnel in performing their duties.
4. Checks inventory, orders, and makes recommendations on custodial supplies.
5. Makes recommendations on building repairs and on custodial staff.
6. Checks and locks all doors when leaving the building at the end of the shift.
7. Some custodial positions may require operation of university vehicle.
Non-Essential Job Functions

7. May clean blackboards and water fountains.
8. May operate a blower to clear sidewalks.
9. May change light bulbs.
10. Serves as back up to other departmental staff when assigned.
11. Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Education
Must have attained an educational level sufficient to read, write, and perform simple calculations.
Required Experience and Training
Three years of experience in building custodial services is required. Experience in the selection of custodial supplies and supervision of personnel is required.

This position is located in the Baker Pattillo Student Center. Duties include occasionally assisting in the room setup for events.

This position is eligible for participation in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) retirement plan, subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
