Job Overview:
Stephen Gaynor School’s Placement Office is devoted to working with each student and family whose child is preparing to transition from Gaynor to their next school. The Placement Office is seeking a part-time Placement Associate working 21 hours a week.
This role will be an integral part of the Placement Office, working closely with the Director of Placement, the Assistant Director of Placement and the wider Gaynor school community.
Essential Functions:
- Manage assigned projects and tasks
- Coordinate, schedule, and participate in Placement related meetings
- Takes notes during conversations/meetings
- Conduct calls and emails to families, staff members, other schools, etc.
- Manage personal and team calendar
- Track needed documents related to exmissions, including collecting, organizing and maintaining all current materials for potential future schools
- Create, organize and maintain all student files and documents
- Organize and prepare mailing of school reports, transcripts, recommendation forms, and student writing samples
- Create, track, and maintain checklists for parents, teachers and students
- Assist in the organization and execution of Placement Office events, including attendance at the events.
- Create, execute and track all parent and student surveys.
- Support students, including in Placement Prep classes, helping students prepare for the application process for their next school.
- Attend full faculty and staff meetings.
- Willing to commit to anti-bias and anti-racism work and to promoting inclusion, belonging and equity through their work in the classroom and school community.
- Ensure a commitment to the school’s DEI mission and goals by participating in continuous professional development for learning differences, anti-racism and anti-bias of all kinds.
- Be an active member of the Gaynor community.

Qualifications
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, Associates degree required
- Experience and/or openness to working with elementary and/or middle school-aged students and families
- Experience working with or knowledge about children with learning differences is a plus
- Ability to initiate and implement projects and see through to completion
- Strong interpersonal, writing, and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Strong organizational skills
- Detailed-oriented with strong time management skills
- Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work as part of a team
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality
- Experience working with Google Suite (e.g. Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Classroom, etc.)
- Familiarity with Veracross (preferred)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
