Job Overview:
We seek a dynamic, agile and innovative full-time Speech-Language Pathologist to work with children across our early childhood program through Middle School. Speech Language Pathologists work directly with classroom teachers and other specialists to develop and implement language goals in a collaborative, push-in/pull-out model. Treatment goals include receptive and expressive language, executive functioning, and pragmatic skills. The successful candidate will work in a team of 14 Speech and Language Pathologists.
Essential Functions:
- Delivers language therapy using a variety of therapeutic models (e.g., push-in, pull-out, whole
- group)
- Develops and implements treatment plans based on clinical observations, standardized tests, and neuropsychological evaluations
- Collaborates with and provides consultation to teachers and specialists in the area of speech and language
- Participates actively as a member of the school's interdisciplinary team
- Writes comprehensive progress reports twice a year regarding student progress
- Conducts conferences with parents/guardians three times a year and as necessary
- Attends regular school meetings, including school-wide meetings, meetings with the Division Director and relevant Cluster meetings
- Attend full faculty and staff bi-weekly meetings.
- Willing to commit to anti-bias and anti-racism work and to promoting inclusion, belonging and equity through their work in the classroom and school community.
- Ensure a commitment to the school’s DEI mission and goals by participating in continuous professional development for learning differences, anti-racism and anti-bias of all kinds.
- Be an active member of the Gaynor community
- Other duties and responsibilities as deemed appropriate
Qualifications
Qualifications & Skills:
- Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology
- Registered and Licensed by the State of New York
- Minimum of two years experience within a school setting with elementary-age students (Experience working with children with learning differences preferred)
- Independent school experience preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills (both written and verbal)
- Sets a respectful, collaborative, and positive tone and recognizes our responsibility to create a diverse and inclusive environment that supports and celebrates each individual in our school community.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Google Workspace (Drive, Docs & Sheets) and Microsoft Office
