LENGTH OF CONTRACT: 223 Days
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) assures the successful development and support for a rigorous, coherent college/career-readiness program and aligned compendium of resources. The Director is responsible for the systemic implementation of the CTAE program, signature programs, and college/career-readiness initiatives. The Director supervises and leads all of the district’s CTAE and signature program coordinators as they administer the specific curricular programs utilizing effective practices. The Director will also serve as an Assistant Principal, primarily focusing on CTAE in their daily responsibilities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
- Master’s degree or higher in Secondary Education preferred
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
- Must hold or be eligible for Georgia Teaching, Leadership, or Support Certification
- Georgia Professional Certification, a level 5 (L5) or higher
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- 3 years of School-Based or Central Administration leadership experience preferred
- 3 additional years of experience as a CTAE classroom teacher preferred
- Experience in the administration and delivery of Career and Technical Education program
- Experience supervising and leading staff
- Experience creating and managing a school budget

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Develops and implements a comprehensive college / career readiness CTAE program consistent with the district’s vision, mission, strategic initiatives, and policies
- Provides oversight of the Stephens County School System CTAE Department
- Works with other departments to ensure a quality implementation of the CTAE and signature programs as aligned with the district’s strategic plan
- Directs the planning, scheduling and implementation of CTAE pathways and courses at the middle and high schools; collaborating with local post-secondary institutions and community organizations to enhance the quality of the CTAE program through the process
- Assists staff in developing and implementing curriculum, instructional strategies, materials and assessments aimed at achievement of college and career readiness benchmarks
- Assists with the supervision and evaluation, and holds accountable the performance and professionalism of assigned staff; interviews and selects employees, and recommends reassignments, terminations, and disciplinary actions
- Establishes, assesses and verifies short-term and long-term goals of the CTAE and signature programs. Makes data-driven decisions and warranted programmatic changes
- Completes as required various state and federal assessment tools, including Community Local Needs Assessments, Monitoring and Risk Assessments, Civil Rights Reviews, etc.
- Develops, in collaboration with the program coordinators, district and school-based professional learning programs for teachers, support staff, and administrators to assist in raising the level of instructional performance and student achievement
- Promotes a comprehensive professional development plan for CTAE staff, including technical and pedagogy development
- Completes and delivers state and federally required documentation required to garner state and federal funds and grants specific to CTAE
- Maintains up to date and accurate accounts for all inventory and equipment purchased with local, state and federal funds and grants
- Collaborates with the implementation of dual enrollment and / or articulation agreements with local colleges/universities
- Monitors all CTAE student organizations (CTSO)
- Works with the purchasing and finance departments to develop bid specifications and evaluation criteria for the CTAE program purchases, in accordance with regulations and policies
- Develops and reviews the department’s annual budget (state & federal funds); analyzes and reviews budgetary and financial data; monitors and authorizes expenditures in accordance with established guidelines
- Facilitates advisory council and sub-committee meetings for CTAE
- Manages the industry certification and authorization processes for CTAE and signature programs, including securing appropriate grants for funding such projects
- Develops and coordinates appropriate community based events
- Attends professional meetings, conferences and workshops to maintain professional knowledge/skills and to create networking and collaboration opportunities.
- Assists the principal with running the school to ensure smooth day-to-day functioning
