ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Execution
- Technical evaluation of client oil & gas assets using industry standard economics software (e.g. ComboCurve, ARIES, or PHDWin) as well as commonly used software such as Spotfire, Excel, and Access
- Prior experience with decline curve analysis required; familiarity with other forecasting methods helpful but not required
- Ability to generate/manage evaluation databases and economic forecasts
- Working with senior members of team, assist in development of key marketing materials and execution of mandates
- Key client reviews (e.g. review of PDP forecasts, type curves, LOS model, etc)
- Confidential Information Memorandums / data room presentations
- Population of virtual data rooms
- Contribution to/participation in presentations
- Following up on external party Q&A
- Attending internal and external project meetings as required. The right candidate will eventually develop to be able to lead these meetings
- Assist with miscellaneous technical project related duties as required
Business Development
- Assist with development of new business activities across a variety of investment banking products with emphasis on sell-side A&D pitches
- Writing of technical portions of pitch books
- Attend pitch meetings
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1-5 years of Petroleum Engineering Experience at an investment bank, third party engineering firm, or operating company
- Engineering undergraduate degree is required
- High level of economic understanding of producing and development field economics:
- Fundamentals of a discounted cash flow: capex, opex, discount rates, LOE, basis differential, price deck, rig schedules, type curve inputs, & economic limit
- Computer skills:
- Deep understanding of Microsoft Office, especially Excel required
- ComboCurve, ARIES and/or PHDWin experience required
- Experience with Enverus Prism a plus; IHS or others acceptable
- Ability to write VBA, Python or R a strong plus
