Description:
The Inventory and Facilities Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of yard management, facility maintenance, and inventory control to support Stephens Landscaping property maintenance and construction teams. This leadership role requires managing a team, ensuring process efficiency, and performing hands-on fieldwork when necessary to maintain facilities and logistics at peak performance. The role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of landscaping material storage, equipment readiness, and facility upkeep to support landscaping crews and projects efficiently.

Performance Measurements:
- Efficiency and accuracy in landscaping material inventory management.
- Effectiveness in maintaining yard and facility cleanliness and organization for seamless landscaping operations.
- Compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Team leadership and development effectiveness in supporting landscaping crews and field teams.
Leadership & Oversight:
- Lead and manage a logistics and facilities team to support daily and weekly landscaping operations.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and strong communication through 1:1 meetings and goal setting.
- Identify key priorities and allocate resources effectively to maintain operational efficiency in support of landscaping projects.
- Enforce safety regulations and best practices for all yard and facility operations.
- Implement and maintain warehouse and yard logistics to optimize space and workflow, ensuring landscaping materials and tools are easily accessible.
Operations & Service Delivery:
- Oversee inventory management to ensure accuracy and availability of essential landscaping materials, tools, and equipment.
- Supervise vendor deliveries, receiving, and organization of bulk landscaping materials such as mulch, stone, soil, and other supplies.
- Manage all waste collection, pallet organization, and bulk material storage to ensure a clean and efficient workspace for landscaping teams.
- Conduct site inspections to identify maintenance and repair needs that impact landscaping operations.
- Ensure the proper upkeep of company facilities, including tool storage, mechanics shop, office spaces, and bulk material pits to support landscaping field teams.
- Perform fieldwork as needed to support team operations, including equipment setup, minor repairs, and material organization.
- Oversee and participate in snow removal operations, including plowing, salting, and clearing pathways to ensure safe access to all facilities and maintain winter landscape safety.
- All other duties as assigned.
Facility & Equipment Management:
- Maintain landscaping tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure a clean, organized, and operational workplace.
- Oversee yard maintenance, including lawn care, dust control, and general cleanliness to support an efficient landscaping environment.
- Supervise the upkeep and minor repairs of company-provided housing for seasonal landscaping employees as needed.
- Conduct routine maintenance on structures, including bulk material pits and storage buildings to ensure proper material handling and accessibility.
- Monitor and maintain fuel levels, water levels, and other operational necessities for landscaping equipment and vehicles.
Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards related to landscaping yard and facility operations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks in material handling, equipment operation, and facility maintenance.
- Manage lock-up procedures for all company facilities to protect landscaping materials and equipment.
Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, deliveries, and maintenance schedules to support landscaping project planning.
- Document inspections, repairs, and safety compliance reports for landscaping operations.
- Utilize company documentation processes to report service-related issues to management to prevent disruptions in landscaping operations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in landscape industry procedures, costs, logistics, and material management.
- Proven experience in facility and inventory management with strong operational knowledge in the landscaping sector.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to support landscaping teams.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced landscaping environment.
- Knowledge of technical/engineering operations and best practices in landscaping facilities management.
- OSHA 10 Training certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working outdoors in varying conditions related to landscaping and facility maintenance.
- Ability to operate various landscaping machinery, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM (Weekends and after hours as needed to support landscaping projects and seasonal demands).
