What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plasma and Water Jet Operator position at Stephens Metal Products, Inc.?
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Must be able to use overhead cranes, basic hand tools, tape measure, calipers, micrometers, air grinders, etc.
· Operate Plasma table and Water Jet safely.
· Maintain a clean work area.
· Work independently.
· Read, understand and comprehend basic blueprints and drawings.
· Must be able to use basic measuring devices, including a tape measure.
· Follow all safety rules.
· Pull, inspect and verify product before processing.
· Properly and safely set up equipment to run material.
· Verify that product meets specifications.
· Perform equipment preventive maintenance.
· Program and operate water jet and plasma cutter.
· Generate parts and print layouts.
· General maintenance of all equipment associated with the operation of the Plasma table.
· Perform all necessary production work as part of the manufacturing process according to the work instructions.
· Perform all necessary quality checks during production and follow procedures when defective parts are discovered.
· Other duties as deemed appropriate by supervisor and management.
QUALIFICATIONS
· High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
· Ability to read and write.
· Solid background working with metal.
· Ability to distinguish material types including Aluminum, Steel, Stainless Steel, Copper and Brass.
· Basic understanding of math
· Candidate has to be a strong team player and reliable.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
· Constant standing.
· Constant use of hands and feet to form parts.
· Constant lifting 50 lbs. or more.
· Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
· Occasional exposure loud noise levels.
WAGE
· $17 - $22
