What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Equipment Sales Representative position at Stephenson Equipment Inc?
Purpose:
To generate sales, increase revenue and meet goals while developing strategies to attract new customers for our construction equipment sales in assigned region.
Essential Functions:
- Services existing accounts, obtains orders, submits orders and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily
- Develop and grow new accounts in this territory for all product lines available.
- Maintain technical and professional knowledge by attending educational seminars, networking, reviewing industry literature and participating in industry organizations
- Forecast sales and provide historical data by maintaining records on sales and locations
- Focus sales efforts on potential volume dealers and existing customers
- Recommend changes in processes, products and services to the management team
- Stay current on industry marketplace data for new products, pricing etc. as well as monitoring the competition
- Travel within the assigned territory visiting customers at their locations and demoing equipment
- Resolve customers complaints by investigating and recommending solutions for management review
- Run sales reports on a weekly and monthly basis keeping management informed on progress
- Creates sales presentations using current industry literature and current product information
- Update and expand the existing sales database
- Meet sales goals and targets
- Stay current with industry trends
- Organize, attend, and support industry specific trade shows.
- Act as a sales liaison for Parts and Service.

Requirements:Education:
Higher education in technical field or extensive work experience in technical field; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Reasoning Skills:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical and Work Environment:
Work environment is varied from office environment to field environment. Much of the time will be spent on the road, in a car, traveling to and from client locations. Traveling will involve extended periods of sitting. Field environment will include hands on operation of equipment.
