What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Shop Technician position at Stephenson Equipment Inc?
Stephenson Equipment, Inc (SEI), an industry leader in Pennsylvania and New York providing sales, rentals, parts and service for construction equipment, cranes, paving, road building and road maintenance equipment, has an immediate need for a Truck Production Technician in our Public Works- Harrisburg, PA location. Our Truck Production Technicians complete the upfit of specialty truck equipment per customer’s specifications to deliver a high quality customized truck.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for assembly of a multitude municipal style trucks, including but not limited to: dump bodies, flat beds, anti-ice systems, leaf collection systems, and hook loaders.
Wiring trucks to factory upfitter switches, and adding aftermarket systems as requested
Installing attachments as ordered, including but not limited to: plows, spreaders, hydraulic systems and controls, hitches, pre-wet systems, shelves/drawers, headache racks, and lift gates
Proficient in welding, working primarily on stainless, aluminum and steel
Ability to fabricate
Examine finished product for quality and operation
Perform safety checks, and adhere to all safety policies
Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts on a regular basis
Operate shop metal working equipment in a safe manner
Additional duties as directed
Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED
Continued education with a technical school
Some experience with truck customization a plus
Valid Driver's License
Valid PA Inspection License
Ability to lift 50lbs with an occasional lift of up to 100lbs with assistance of a crane
