We are looking to expand our litigation team with an Associate Litigation Attorney who will be a vital part of our growing practice. Job Responsibilities:
- Independently manage a significant litigation caseload, from investigation to trial.
- Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery.
- Conduct discovery, including depositions and written discovery.
- Prepare for and participate in trial practice, including trial preparation, research, and presenting cases in court.
- Represent clients at mediations, binding arbitrations, and other dispute resolution forums.
- Regularly appear in court for motions and hearings.
- Communicate regularly with clients, providing status updates and managing client expectations.
- Collaborate with partners and other team members to advance litigation strategies.
- Engage in client management, building strong, lasting client relationships.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the North Carolina State Bar.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
- Proven ability to independently manage a litigation caseload.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of general, business, or defense civil litigation experience.
- Experience in second-chair or independent appearances in civil court.
- Experience managing a litigation caseload from inception to resolution.
- Ability to build relationships with clients and fellow legal professionals.
- Trial experience is encouraged but not required.
