What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Summer Counselor position at STEPPING FORWARD COUNSELING CENTER LLC?
Stepping Forward Counseling Center, LLC (SFCC) is looking for summer counselors to join our multidisciplinary team of Clinical Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, Psychologists, and Psychiatrists in a hands-on, fully immersive mental/behavioral health day camp for children and teens.
Our summer therapeutic program revolves around outdoor activities that are clinical in nature. Counselors may be called upon to lead activities, identify and show others how to recognize negative/ineffective behaviors and replace them with positive ones.
Main Functions
Support clinicians in the provision of psychotherapeutic services to clients and families in a therapeutic day camp setting.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field (Preferred)
- Experience providing services to the child and adolescent population (Preferably in Mental Health)
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities for mental health conditions (Preferred)
Responsibilities
- Support clinicians in the provision of psychotherapeutic services to clients and families
- Providing psychoeducation, individual/group therapy, monitoring and evaluating clients' progress toward treatment/behavioral goals
- Learn how to implement treatment plans, in addition to verbal or cognitive socialization, stress reduction, self-soothing skills
- Work with modalities like: Behavior Modification, Token Economy, Modeling & Rehearsal Training, Individual Behavior Therapy, Psychiatric Consultation Therapy, Social and Emotional Skill Training, ABA, CBT, DBT, Mindfulness
Salary : $20 - $32
