Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Counselor or Master's level intern to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to helping individuals navigate their mental health challenges and improve their overall well-being. This role involves providing therapeutic support to clients through various counseling techniques, including individual and group sessions, while maintaining a safe and supportive environment. The Counselor will work with diverse populations, addressing a range of issues including family dynamics, depression, anxiety, substance abuse and psychoeducational groups.
We are seeking individuals interested in working with private clients as well as those who looking to work in a group setting with those in substance abuse recovery. This is a great opportunity to learn and grow while setting your own schedule. This is a 1099 contract position and pay is based upon experience and actual services performed. Some training is available and Master's level interns are welcome to apply. This is an ideal position for interns, APC, LPC, LCSW and addiction counselors.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine client needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions tailored to the specific needs of clients.
- Utilize telehealth platforms to offer remote counseling services when necessary.
- Implement crisis management strategies to support clients in distress.
- Engage in case management activities to coordinate care and resources for clients.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and treatment outcomes in compliance with coding standards.
- Stay informed about current trends in counseling practices related to the various counseling techniques utilized.
- Foster a supportive environment that promotes open communication and trust between clients and the counselor.
Skills
- Knowledge of Christian counseling principles is a plus.
- Experience addressing substance abuse issues within therapeutic settings.
- Familiarity with telehealth practices for effective remote counseling delivery.
- Strong background in behavioral health interventions.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals in recovery.
- Competence in case management processes for holistic client support.
- Expertise in conducting diagnostic evaluations for accurate treatment planning.
- Skills in crisis management to address urgent client needs.
- Understanding of coding requirements for mental health documentation.
