What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stepping Stones Prechool Cook position at Stepping Stones Preschools?
Stepping Stones Preschools -
- To plan and prepare meals that meet proper nutritional requirements.
- To ensure that food is stored and handled properly, and that the kitchen and all its equipment are thoroughly sanitary.
- must be able to work in a cooperative manner with other staff members, students, parents and funding agency personnel.
- must be able to work safely around stoves and chemicals while having the physical endurance to spend many hours standing, walking and lifting heavy objects.
- Deep knowledge of food storage, preparation and handling standards
- Operational knowledge of kitchen equipment, appliances and cleaning supplies
- Familiarity with food allergies and handling of food cross contamination issues
- Ability to order, procure and stock inventory of food supplies as needed
- Ability to communicate with staff, children and their families in a pleasant tone
- Interpret and follow public health regulations regarding food storage and preparation.
- Maintain proper food storage and sanitation of kitchen and food storage areas
