RECYCLE MANAGER
FLSA: Full-Time Professional/ Non-Exempt
Responsible for the planning and coordination of all recycling training and assisting with all facets of production. Responsible for the supervision of the employees always assigned to the recycling center. Supervise participants and customer service representatives (drivers) in secure document destruction division. Ensure that all security protocols (NAID, Wells Fargo, etc.) are always adhered to. Provide and create process support for Business Development and provide outstanding customer service. This position must be highly motivated and be able to multi-task. This position is responsible to and supervised by the Vice President of Administration.
RECYCLING DUTIES:
1. Responsible for supervising the setup of the Recycle work area.
2. Responsible for ensuring the safe operation of all equipment at the recycling site; including but not limited to vertical baler, platform scales, aluminum crusher, skid steer and any related hand tools.
3. Responsible for supervising the cleanliness of training and work areas assigned,
including recycling sites, recycling buildings and all machinery.
4. Responsible for coordinating the maintenance and service of recycling machinery.
5. Responsible for completing and documenting safety checks on STEPS recycle facilities, vehicles, and equipment and reporting any unsafe conditions to the Vice President of Compliance.
6. Responsible for observation and reporting of any safety problems in the assigned work areas including equipment and to monitor that required safety equipment is worn at all times.
7. Responsible for requesting materials needed for training and production in a timely manner.
8. Responsible for verifying the quality and quantity of materials ordered upon delivery.
9. Responsible for completing all reporting assignments with accuracy and on a
timely basis.
10. Responsible for supervising the closing of the assigned work area at the end of each day: ensuring the work area is clean with all equipment and tools safely stored, ensure all electrical equipment has been properly turned off.
11. Responsible for coordinating all product shipments.
12. Responsible for Recycle staff training; both individual and as a group.
13. Responsible for reporting incidents and injuries involving employees to the Vice
President of Compliance.
14. Responsible for ensuring professional interaction with all customers.
15. Responsible for supporting business development by expanding the customer base.
16. Responsible for other duties as assigned by the Vice President of administration or the Vice President of Compliance.
SECURE DOCUMENT DESTRUCTION DUTIES:
1. Responsible for ensuring the safety of all document destruction employees.
2. Responsible for coordinating and supervising all activities in the shred room:
loading/unloading trucks; supervising employees on the sorting line and document
destruction equipment; watching for overthrows, maintaining a continuous workflow,
accuracy of documenting shred time on tickets and reporting daily shred data.
3. Responsible for completing required security audits in the shred facility.
4. Responsible for supervising daily cleaning procedures of document destruction area.
5. Responsible for creating a weekly schedule and route for all Customer Service
Representatives (drivers) that provides efficient customer service.
6. Responsible for maximizing truck efficiency and minimizing turnaround times.
7. Responsible for having empty bins available for daily pick-up and preparing an exchange schedule for Customer Service Representatives.
8. Responsible for ensuring that each truck is loaded properly with the correct quantity
and type of bins required for the route.
9. Responsible for maintaining Customer Service Representatives/driver logs.
10. Responsible for performing driver training and audits and documenting each for
easy access to reviewers during security audits.
11. Responsible for supervising each Customer Service Representative, fielding
inquiries and completing their annual performance evaluation.
12. Responsible for ensuring the highest productivity output.
13. Responsible for adhering to opening and closing procedures.
14. Responsible for maintaining accurate reports: including Monthly Production
Reports, monthly pricing of commodities, and any other internal reports as requested.
15. Responsible for assisting with collections of delinquent customer accounts.
16. Responsible for ensuring professional interaction with all customers.
17. Responsible for scheduling shipment of salvage/baled goods, ensure and
document shipment certifications/security and completing the bill of ladings.
18. Responsible for resolving customer complaints and problems quickly and smoothly.
19. Responsible for assisting in the supervision of service deployments at customer
locations.
20. Responsible for developing a transportation schedule, and for coordinating the maintenance and service of all secure document destruction fleet vehicles.
21. Responsible for monitoring and scheduling the maintenance of the document destruction equipment, forklifts and any other related equipment.
22. Responsible for moving materials/equipment from one location to another while
maintaining an accurate inventory.
23. Responsible for conducting oneself in a safe manner, and adhering to safety and security policies and procedures; reporting all injuries immediately.
24. Responsible for any other duties as determined by the Vice President of Administration.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED required. Any combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to complete the assigned tasks. Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
