Overview:
The Foster Care Supervisor is responsible for actions, decisions, and performances within the regional program. The Foster Care Supervisor is responsible for the care and protection of all the children residing in StepStone Family and Youth Services homes in his or her region. He or she is responsible for hiring, training and supervising staff. He or she is responsible for the efficient management of the financial and physical resources of the regional offices. The Regional Director is responsible for the quality assurance within the region. He or she works with treatment staff to monitor the program’s effectiveness with children and families with a variety of social, psychological, and medical needs. The Foster Care Supervisor maintains a 24-hour on-call support system for the foster children, foster parents, and biological families. The Foster Care Supervisor communicates frequently with the public agency to assure that optimum services are provided to the child and his or her family in accordance with the public agency’s case plan and expectations. He or she participates in meetings with public agency representatives, biological parents, foster parents, foster children, and other interested parties and agencies to access ongoing needs and expected outcomes of children in out-of-home placements. The Foster Care Supervisor provides feedback on service delivery, quality, and needs to the Program Manager and Executive Director. The Foster Care Supervisor provides the Program Manager and Executive Director a quarterly service review.

- Oversees the program of care and treatment according to agency and state guidelines
- Oversees recruitment and training of foster parents and recommends licensing or certification
- Recruits qualified treatment staff according to agency requirements and state guidelines
- Supervises and advises all regional case management and licensing staff
- Evaluates programs and procedures and recommends changes to Program Manager and Executive Director
- Maintains working relationships with county and state public custodial agencies, the courts, the schools, and other mental health and social service agencies in the community
- Maintains working relationship with schools, courts, probation, and related agencies
- Represents and interprets the agency’s programs to the community
- One year of Graduate degree training in a Human Service field, i.e., Social Work or Counseling from an accredited college or university

Two years experience in casework supervision working with troubled children and families
- Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field and five years experience as a caseworker for a public or private agency will be considered in lieu of the above requirement
- Ability to work effectively with children, adults, staff, board members, parents, foster parents, and the community
- Ability to select qualified personnel, delegate responsibility, give support and recognition, and command respect and confidence
- Ability to understand the needs of children in out-of-home placement, their families, and the foster families
- Capable of performing case management task in the absence or shortage of case management staff
Salary : $55,000 - $60,000
