POSITION: Outpatient Peer Support Specialist
LOCATION: Elizabethtown, Kentucky
QUALIFICATIONS:
- high school diploma or equivalent
- Active APSS certification is required.
- familiarity with various recovery models: 12 Step, Rational Recovery, faith-based initiatives, medication-assisted treatment (MAT)
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TRAINING:
- coach and model recovery
- manage a caseload
- facilitate group and individual sessions
- help patients navigate life circumstances (rent, obtaining food stamps, etc.)
- help patients define their personal recovery goals
- teach and model coping techniques and self-help strategies
- empower patients to overcome and combat the stigma of addiction
- support medication-assisted addiction recovery when appropriate
- support whichever recovery strategy works best for the individual patient
- participate in monthly supervision with clinical supervisor
- maintain peer support certification under the direction of the Sober Living Director
- complete training in crisis-intervention, standard first aid, and CPR by a certified instructor
SHIFT: Monday - Friday: 8AM - 4PM; rotating call schedule
