What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Director Engineering PMO position at Sterigenics U.S., LLC?
Reporting to the Vice President, Global Engineering, the Sr. Director Engineering, PMO is responsible for the establishing global CAPEX planning & governance, project management & management of engineering standards, corporate level project controls oversight, and coordination of all CAPEX portfolio progress tracking, and CAPEX coordination. This role also assists sites in developing and presenting new CAPEX business cases for executive approval and CAPEX master planning. Duties and Responsibilities
- Establish and sustain a global Project Management Office (PMO) overseeing all aspects of CAPEX governance.
- Manage the global CAPEX project management reporting and development process.
- Oversee the direct project management of key strategic projects as directed.
- Develop and maintain global engineering CAPEX management, equipment, and facility standards.
- Ensure all work carried out and equipment installed is safe, effective and in compliance with the appropriate regulatory and Sterigenics' standards.
- Work directly with all Sterigenics' facilities to manage and oversee Capital Projects involving the planning, design, reconfiguration or construction, and qualification of facilities, utilities, and equipment.
- Oversee and direct process engineering and facility design activities to ensure robust technical capability, safe design and use, and life cycle management of company facilities and equipment.
- Ensure all company and site Engineering policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Ensure all work undertaken is reflected accurately in up-to-date Engineering, Project and Maintenance information files.
- Serve as principal liaison for global engineering with the professional Engineering & Construction firm(s), where these have been engaged in design and / or construction elements of projects being undertaken.
- Work with sites to ensure activities necessary for successful execution of project(s) are completed as necessary to tie in with the overall project execution.
- Manage and resolve technical issues or changes arising throughout Engineering project life cycle(s) whilst ensuring the overall project objectives of scope, cost and schedule are adhered to.
- Proactively manage the global CAPEX master planning process.
- Own engineering documentation control and drawing system management.

- 4 - 8 Direct Reports Education Required
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (MS preferred) and a minimum of 15 years' experience, including a minimum of 8 years' senior level engineering management experience. Experience & Skill Required
- Comprehensive technical knowledge of industrial equipment, plant design, and construction.
- Comprehensive equipment and plant control systems understanding (distributed control systems, process safety, and building management systems).
- Experience with pharmaceutical industry standards and requirements (Minimum US GMP).
- Thorough knowledge of the validation process.
- Proven expertise in planning / organization / execution of complex capital projects in a regulated environment.
- Demonstrated experience in RCA process and helping teams solve complex issues.
- Experience leading and developing a diverse engineering team consisting of project, automation, and process engineering functions.
- Demonstrates a disciplined approach to making decisions that are based on data and facts and is consistent with Vision / Business Goals and Values.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory standards.
- Ability to drive consensus with multiple stakeholders to achieve results.
- Experience managing complex high value CAPEX portfolios.
- PMP or similar certification desirable.
- Licensed Professional Engineer desirable.
- Lean / Six Sigma certification desirable.
- Experience managing a project team and delivering complex CAPEX projects.
- Equivalent education and experience may substitute for stated requirements. Special Requirements
