Salary :

The Logistic Manager is responsible for providing effective leadership and coordinating 24 / 7 logistical operations of the SPDx Sterile Processing facility to deliver quality, efficient, cost-effective decontamination, sterilization, and distribution services. This position involves deliveries of highly specialized instruments in a sterile state which can significantly impact customer satisfaction and patient safety.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES :

  • Coordinate workflow of Sterile Processing team including staff scheduling.
  • Train new staff on SPDx process and procedures
  • Mentor and Lead Sterile Processing team
  • Develop and update process and procedures for the Sterile Logistic team
  • Advise Manager of any performance concerns that need to be addressed.
  • Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, sterilize. and package all instruments following established protocols
  • Prepare order requests as necessary for replacement parts for instruments.
  • Operate sterilization equipment properly and efficiently.
  • Maintain appropriate logs and records relating to the sterilization process, including Sterilizer Load Records and Biological Monitoring Records.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to Standard Precautions and Infection Control practices.
  • Follow protocols for decontamination process referencing Instructions for Use (IFU) supplied by the manufacturers.
  • Identify instruments for all specialties and assure proper function.
  • Follow protocol for repair or replacement of instruments that are not functioning properly.
  • Utilize equipment according to the manufacturers recommendations and hospital policy.
  • Determine how to best accomplish functions within established procedures.
  • Confer with leader on any unusual situations.
  • Ability to meet physical demands and perform the essential job functions within the work environment, including travel requirements identified in this job description.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Sterile Logistic Technician
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate or bachelors degree in supply chain, Logistics, Inventory management or related field is preferred
  • Certification in sterile processing or healthcare logistics (e.g., CBSPD, CRCST, CMRP) is highly desirable
  • Three or more years in a management or leadership position
  • Clean driving record
  • CDL Class C License preferred
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal transportation laws and regulations
  • Experience in fleet operations role preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred
  • Experience with orthopedic instrumentation preferred
  • SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED :

  • Strong people management and development skills
  • Outstanding organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrates excellent time management skills
  • Proficient with GPS Navigation systems
  • Knowledge of current regulations and requirements (AAMI, AORN, JCAHO, etc.)
  • Fluent with automated instrument tracking systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, including Excel and Word
  • Able to read and comprehend written and oral instructions
  • Verbal communication skills

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and arms to handle, feel, or carry; reach with hands and arms.

  • Operate a computer program, such as GPS navigation, as well as the ability to operate, set up, adjust, and test sanitization equipment.
  • The employee is required to sit; climb, balance or stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl, enter and exit a vehicle repeatedly.
  • Constantly communicate and exchange information with team members and must be able to communicate correct information with customers and vendors.
  • Read / comprehend, write, communicate orally, reasoning and analytical abilities, and mental flexibility.
  • Regularly lift or move objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus to compare and distinguish material grades, analysis reports, and administrative data.
  • Hearing ability to perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking level with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make discriminations in sound.
  • Work Environment :
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly working in and out of a hospital environment and vehicle.

  • Exposure to hazardous materials, extreme heat, and proximity to moving mechanical parts.
  • Requires wearing common protective and safety equipment.
  • Position may involve extended work hours.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
