Position Overview:
The Valet Parking Attendant is responsible for providing high-quality parking services to patients and visitors at the Dayton Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC). The goal is to enhance patient satisfaction by assisting elderly, frail, and disabled individuals while ensuring smooth traffic flow and secure parking.
Key Responsibilities:
· Greet patients and visitors, offering valet parking services from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday (excluding Federal holidays).
· Verify patient identification (VA Patient Data Card) and provide claim checks.
· Park and retrieve vehicles efficiently, ensuring a 10-minute turnaround time 95% of the time.
· Secure all vehicles and handle car keys responsibly.
· Assist with emergencies or incidents, contacting VA Police if needed.
· Enforce a “No Tipping” policy and provide exceptional customer service.
· Maintain a professional appearance and wear the uniform provided by the contractor.
· Operate valet booth, manage parking traffic, and ensure proper use of the designated parking area.
· Report any vehicle damage or claims to the contractor’s supervisor and Contracting Officer Representative (COR) immediately.
· Adhere to all VA safety, fire, health, and security protocols.
Qualifications:
- Valid state-issued driver’s license and driving history.
- Must speak fluent English and demonstrate strong customer service skills.
- Background check and favorable adjudication required prior to employment.
- Ability to lift or assist with wheelchairs and carts when necessary.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to drive safely and cautiously, adhering to all traffic laws and safety guidelines.
Training:
All valet attendants will receive mandatory training on VA policies, fire and safety protocols, HIPAA, and emergency procedures. Additional training will be provided on-site.
