Sterilite is seeking an Industrial Designer in Townsend, MA.
Summary of Duties: Conceptualize, communicate and develop consumer desired designs and new products. Essential responsibilities include conceptualizing new product designs and communicating them to other using various means for review. Brainstorm, problem-solve, and find creative and aesthetic solutions for new products. Analyze research data and product specification to determine feasibility of a product proposal. Conduct user research on end-users of household products to understand and communicate how and where products are used at home and how they are sold in stores. Build models of new ideas for use and review utilizing 3D model-making machines. Evaluate current design trends through related periodicals, trade shows, competitors, and the marketplace. Must be able to manage time effectively while working independent of a group setting. Must be proficient in the process of developing new products while producing creative solutions to complex problems. The Industrial Designer will use a variety of programs, including Pro/ENGINEER, Autodesk 3DSMAX, SketchBook Pro, KeyShot, and Adobe programs, including Photoshop.
Qualifications: Position requires a Master’s degree in Industrial Design or a related field of study and two (2) year of experience in the job offered or a related role. Sterilite will also accept a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or a related field of study and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or a related role. Position also requires two (2) years of experience with Pro/ENGINEER or SolidWorks, AutoDesk SketchBook Pro or Adobe Photoshop, and KeyShot Pro. Position also requires any amount of experience with AutoDesk 3DSMAX.
