If surgical tools are sharp and functional, surgeons can deliver optimal patient care. We at STERIS offer repair solutions, including mobile services. This position will mainly involve working in our mobile repair truck, with 20% travel for hospital services several hours away, sharing driving with team members.
Service applicants must reside in Alabama.
Main Responsibilities
- Conduct basic to complex repairs on surgical instruments using tools like grinding wheels, buffing wheels, hand and power tools, and soldering equipment.
- Work primarily aboard a mobile repair truck setting. Requires ability to remain seated/standing for long periods and be comfortable in confined spaces.

Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED is needed.
- 2 years hands-on work, including at least one year relevant experience.*
- Ability to pass medical examination and adhere to DOT regulations
- Possess valid driving license, clear driving history, maintain mandatory vaccines
- Fulfilling FMCSA's age criteria for interstate driving, age 21 or older
- Lifting up to 25 pounds, pushing carts up to 150 pounds
- Meet hospital/customer credentialing requirements
- Relevant fields include: Repair, assembly, testing, small tools, engine repair, electronics, carpentry, circuit board assembly, sterile processing, sewing, jewelry, maintenance, construction, and automotive repair.
