Position Summary
The Senior Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for leading the inventory control team to maintain an accurate inventory on all materials in accordance with the ERP system.This position assures our cycle count program and daily inventory control processes are executed to the highest level. This role works directly with Distribution, Purchasing, and Customer Service teams to correct inventory errors and determine root cause of errors for implementation of improvements.
The regular schedule for the role is
- Monday - Friday
- either 6 am - 2 : 30 pm or 2 : 00 pm - 10 : 30 pm . Overtime is possible as business needs fluctuate. Training schedule may involve travel or training outside of scheduled shift.
What You'll do as a Senior Inventory Control Specialist
Provide prioritized work direction, training, and coaching to inventory control team to meet daily inventory needs.
Ensure inventory accuracy rates of 98% or above through the management of the daily cycle count program including count set-up, physical counts, data entry, and reporting.
Utilize WMS / ERP system to complete research and transactions related to inventory investigations and reconciliation.
Manage expiring product processes including system reporting and transactions as well as physical disposition of product.
Works with Distribution, Purchasing, and Customer Services to complete inventory investigations and root cause analysis related to inventory inaccuracies, shipping complaints, returns, as well as loss of material due to internal and external damage.
Partner with Distribution and Quality teams to manage material transactions and product segregation of quarantine and quality hold inventory.
Manage damage and repack process to ensure inventory is systematically and physically dispositioned correctly.
Assist in the development and maintenance of related work instructions. Develop and lead training of employees to ensure understanding and correct completion of assigned tasks.
Organize and maintain inventory records and documentation in accordance with Record Retention and Good Documentation Practices.
Cross train in end to end Distribution Center processes to allow for proficient inventory investigations as well as back-up of other departments if required
Participate in internal and external audits as required.
Participate in Continuous Improvement events, training, and daily processes including but not limited to tracking of productivity data and leading 5S audits.
Obtain required powered equipment certifications to complete assigned tasks.
Maintain and engage in promotion of a safe work environment.
The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed
Required :
High School Diploma or GED.
5 years of work experience in warehouse, inventory control, or related disciplines.
Ability to become certified on necessary equipment such as forklifts.
General proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP / WMS (Warehouse Management Systems).
Working knowledge of inventory transactions and record keeping.
Ability to work independently and as a team in a fast paced, changing environment.
Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
Preferred :
Previous forklift experience (counterbalance, stock picker, reach truck) and / or certification.
Experience working with Excel to manipulate and track data.
Previous leadership in a professional setting is preferred.
Experience working through WMS / ERP implementation is a plus.

Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
