Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our school. This position involves performing various cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure that all areas are kept in excellent condition.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Clean, sweep, vacuum, and mop floors.

· Empty wastebaskets, dump trash, replace trash bags, clean adult and student restrooms.

· Dust furniture, window sills in classrooms, clean windows in doors and maintain front glass school doors.

· Replenish toilet paper, paper towels, soap dispensers, and anti-bacterial dispensers.

· Provide minor repairs and maintenance for items such as desks, pencil sharpeners, routine plumbing situations, changing light bulbs and assembling furniture.

· Perform duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Dean, Director or Administration.

· Effectively and efficiently maintain the cleanliness and safety of the campus, campus buildings, including all restrooms, hallways, classrooms, administration offices, athletic areas, and dinning hall.

· Set up dinning hall for special events including chapel services, special programs, speaking events.

· Take all trash, including cardboard boxes to trash dumpsters located behind buildings.

· Respond to emergency cleaning calls.

· Clean and maintain a clean, organized custodian supply closets.

· Clean and maintain water fountains.

· Report any issues with cleaning equipment to school deans.

· Move and arrange furniture for special events including set up and tear down.

· Maintain the responsibility of key access and close school buildings down, confirming they are secure at night.

· Assist with maintaining a supply inventory and submitting supply needs at the beginning of each month to the Grammar Campus Aide.

· Provide assistance to campus administration if requested. Preform job related duties as assigned.

· During the summer months preform touch up painting, and deep cleaning and repairs of facility.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

· Knowledge of cleaning methods and procedures.

· Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenance.

· Knowledge of established safety procedures and techniques.

· Skill in cleaning and operating equipment such as vacuum, power tools, hand tools, mop.

· Skill in mixing cleaning chemicals according to manufacture instructions.

· Ability to work with the school administration, and faculty as a team to provide the cleanest and safest environment for students and families.

PHYSICAL and MENTAL DEMANDS

· Stand and walk for extended periods of time.

· Stoop, bend, and climb frequently.

· Push and pull weighted objects and equipment.

· Use hands for repetitive functions, such as grasping, wiping.

· Use hand and power tools/equipment resulting in repetitive hand movement.

· Lift and carry up to 50lbs. from floor to chest and overhead, daily, occasionally, frequently.

· Occasionally may require additional working hours on a weekend.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Must have sufficient education to read, write, follow verbal and written instructions.

· Proven experience in custodial work either in a school or medical facility preferred.

· Must be able to communicate verbally with administration, staff and faculty.

· Must have reliable transportation and child care of needed.

· Must have the legal ability to work in the United States.

· Must be able to pass a National Criminal Background check and drug test.

POSTION DETAILS:

LOCATION: Cedar Park/Jonestown Area

This position is for a contract year and totals 165 days per year. The hours are Monday through Thursday, from 11:00am to 7:30pm with a 30 min lunch break. During the school year (August through May), the position is 4 days a week. During the summer months (June, July) the position reduces to 3 days a week.

Salary:

$20 per hour, with expected work week to be 32 hours per week from August through May, and 24 hours per week during the summer months.
