What are the responsibilities and job description for the CDL Driver- Construction position at Sterling Construction?
Driver responsibilities and abilities include but are not limited to the list below. Other duties may be assigned.
- Operate the Water Truck, Side / Belly / End Dump Trucks and other equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
- Proper machine start-up, operation, and shutdown knowledge
- Operate Trucks safely and efficiently
- Understand and follow directions from supervisors as to required work area
- Monitor vehicle performance, fluid levels, and mechanical fitness
- Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of the Water Truck.
- Operate other heavy equipment and other construction related duties as required.
- Must ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with the principles of the company's Code of Ethics.
- Must examine situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - High School diploma / GED.
- Have a minimum of 2 years of driving construction vehicles
- Must have a CDL Class A with Tanker endorsement
- Willing to do laborer work
- Ability to work as a Team Member and work in a professional manner and a positive attitude
- Motivated self-starter and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work safely under pressure with time constraints in a changing environment.
- Frequent cross body movements such as bending, climbing into equipment, lifting (up to 75lbs), twisting, standing, balancing, stooping, handling materials, moving around hazardous sites.
- Good Eye to Hand coordination a must. Depth perception required.
- Flexible availability to include overtime and possible weekends.
