Title : Industrial Electrician

Location : Peru, IN – 100% Onsite

Duration and hire type : Contract

Overview : Sterling Engineering / Staffing is currently looking for an Industrial Electrician for one of our clients in the Peru, IN area. Sterling has a rich history of delivering top talent to our clients. We are a nationwide Staffing Firm with over 100 clients and works primarily with Fortune 1000 corporations.

Hourly Rate : $30-35 / hr

Job Description :

Electricians are responsible for the facility, equipment, and machinery electrical work that includes inspecting, testing, repairing, installing, and modifying electrical components and systems.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Install, maintain, and enhance electrical systems and components, including fuses, lights and wiring
  • Inspect, test, and diagnose issues with electrical systems and components
  • Perform all work in a manner that meets and follows electrical codes, blueprints, and standards
  • Test electrical systems and components to ensure proper functioning
  • Prepare bend conduit and pull wires
  • Complete required documentation of repairs and service information
  • Ensure adequate inventory of necessary supplies and parts
  • Calibrate equipment to provide specifications
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components
  • Troubleshoot problems and make timely repairs
  • Perform maintenance on IT networks
  • Operates a variety of equipment to include fork trucks, cranes, and other powered equipment

    • Qualifications and Experience :

  • Comfortable reading and understanding electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
  • Working knowledge of electrical theory and the associated principles, materials, and equipment
  • Ability to calculate basic mathematical problems

    • Preferred Skills :

  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment
  • Troubleshoot robotic systems and equipment
  • Read and work with Programmable Logic Controllers
  • Direct and trained workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures
  • Completion of an electrician apprenticeship program at a technical or trade school
  • Journeyman's or state license
