Title: Manufacturing Engineer (CI)
Location: Sugar Grove, IL 60554
Hire Type: Direct Hire
Salary: $65k-$75k/yr.
Sterling Engineering is looking for a motivated and experienced Manufacturing Engineer (Continuous Improvement focused) for a client of ours near Sugar Grove, IL. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing, preferably within sheet metal or metal fabrication environments, and a passion for driving process improvements and enhancing productivity.
Job Duties:
- Evaluate current manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, cost reduction, and productivity.
- Implement and lead continuous improvement projects, focusing on process optimization and waste elimination.
- Analyze and enhance machine programming (CNC, Laser Cutters, Benders, Press Brake equipment) to improve performance and reduce downtime (experience in this area is a major plus).
- Manage and improve processes in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment, addressing frequent changeovers and setups.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement cost-cutting measures.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and promote a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.
Qualifications:
- Associate s or Bachelor s degree, preferably in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
- Minimally 2 years in manufacturing or industrial engineering environments
- Strong expertise in process improvements within manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on experience in sheet metal or metal fabrication industries.
