Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Designer with 10 years of expertise in the utility industry, particularly in gas and electric systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong leadership background, hands-on experience with design tools, and a proactive approach to driving projects forward. This position is a contract to hire opportunity, and the successful candidate will be expected to work in a hybrid capacity, with a minimum of one in-office day per week. There may also be potential travel to job sites.
Job Duties:
- Lead and manage design projects within the utility industry, focusing on gas and electric systems.· Collaborate with clients and customers to understand project requirements and deliver effective solutions.· Utilize AutoCAD and MicroStation CAD software to create and refine detailed designs.· Provide leadership and guidance to a team of engineers and designers.· Ensure the timely delivery of design projects while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.· Work independently while staying self-motivated to meet deadlines.· Participate in on-site visits and assist with construction projects when necessary.
Qualifications:
- 10 years of design experience in the utility industry (gas and electric preferred).· Strong leadership experience or proven ability to lead a team.· Proficient in AutoCAD and MicroStation CAD software.· Ability to work effectively with customers/clients and translate needs into actionable designs.· Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.· High school diploma or GED.· Ability to travel to job sites as needed.
