Senior Engineering Director

Job Overview:
The Senior Engineering Director will oversee product design, performance, and project scheduling to ensure customer requirements and delivery expectations are met. This role also provides shop floor support for internal and external stakeholders. The Technical Operations Head manages engineering standards, technical content, and systems while driving continuous product improvements and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with project management, sales, and accounting teams to define product scope and assist in estimating new projects.
• Lead the oversight of innovative product designs ensuring technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Provide leadership in technical problem-solving and engineering decision-making.
• Develop, manage, and update engineering KPIs including maintaining performance tracking tools.
• Conduct cost-to-complete exercises for assigned projects and assist with project estimating.
• Oversee engineering resource planning and scheduling integrating inputs into production systems.
• Ensure projects are completed within or below estimated targets.
• Support and uphold quality management systems.
• Mentor and develop the engineering team through formal training and professional development initiatives.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams throughout all project phases.
• Travel domestically and internationally as needed for site visits and vendor assessments.
• Work with vendors to enhance product quality improve delivery and drive cost reductions.
• Apply Lean tools to facilitate product and process improvements.
• Foster leadership development and succession planning within the engineering team.
• Develop and execute department strategic plans and annual budgets.
• Track and analyze department performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
• Support manufacturing engineering initiatives including capital improvement projects.
