Job Description: Assistant QA Manager
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant QA Manager to strengthen our Quality Assurance (QA) team and develop future leadership talent.
This role plays a key part in overseeing quality assurance processes, managing lab operations, and ensuring compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the QA Manager in overseeing all QA functions, ensuring adherence to HACCP, GMPs, SQF, and other food safety programs.
- Supervise and mentor QA team members, fostering professional development and team performance.
- Manage basic lab operations, including testing for solids, fats, pH, and other product quality parameters.
- Prepare for and participate in external audits, including customer and regulatory inspections.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in quality and compliance standards.
- Ensure compliance with all internal and external quality standards and regulations.
- Serve as a resource for resolving quality issues and ensuring product integrity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or similar).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a QA supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
- Industry experience in food, beverage, or pharmaceuticals is required.
- Experience with HACCP, GMPs, and SQF (or equivalent quality management systems).
- Strong knowledge of lab operations and testing procedures.
- Familiarity with union environments is a plus.
- Proven experience working with external auditors and managing customer audits.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
