Job Title: Compliance & Regulatory Engineer – Electrical Power Distribution & Switchgear
Location: Henrico, VA
Reports to: Director of Engineering
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Compliance & Regulatory Engineer to join our team and support the design and development of electrical power distribution and switchgear products. This role ensures compliance with industry standards, regulations, and certifications, working closely with engineering, quality, and regulatory teams to maintain adherence to UL, EMC, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical expertise in areas such as EMC, safety, and thermal compliance, ensuring system compliance with regulatory requirements.
Review system architecture and provide discipline-specific inputs to support compliance in product design.
Conduct design reviews to ensure Design for Compliance principles are integrated into new products.
Oversee product verification, characterization, and reliability testing to meet industry standards.
Provide support for regulatory certification processes, standards compliance, and product performance verification.
Assist the Quality Manager in preparing for and executing audits.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in compliance engineering within an electrical power distribution and switchgear environment.
Strong familiarity with UL standards, including UL 891, 1558, 857, and 1008.
Experience in regulatory compliance, product verification, and testing methodologies.
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and regulatory teams.
Salary : $105,000 - $115,000
