Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Environmental Compliance to lead and oversee environmental compliance efforts across multiple manufacturing and service sites. This role is responsible for ensuring adherence to Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations while minimizing corporate liability and enhancing environmental stewardship. Job Duties:
- Develop and implement environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Oversee environmental review of materials and waste management at operational sites.
- Conduct audits to assess compliance with environmental laws, including hazardous waste, air emissions, and wastewater discharge regulations.
- Prepare for and manage regulatory inspections and responses to citations.
- Lead environmental training programs, contingency planning, and waste disposal strategies.
- Direct the Responsible Care program, ensuring compliance with its management system and maintaining the company’s status as a recognized partner in environmental stewardship.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure facility designs and equipment align with environmental regulations.
- Support corporate quality initiatives by ensuring environmental compliance aligns with internal and external standards.
- Supervise and provide leadership to the environmental compliance team, including engineers and specialists.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of ten years of experience in environmental compliance, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations.
- Physical capability to work in an industrial environment, including confined space entry and work at heights.
Travel Requirements:
- 25-30% travel required, with up to 50% travel during workload increase periods.
Salary : $160,000 - $180,000
