Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex machinery and equipment, including automated blast systems, paint booths, man-movers, cleaning systems, welding units, infrared drying ovens, programmable controllers, comfort heaters, boilers, air compressors, and mobile equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose problems and repair machinery and equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
- Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connect cables and wires between machines and equipment.
- Test malfunctioning machinery and collaborate with other maintenance workers and managers to diagnose malfunctions.
- Replace faulty electrical components, such as relays, switches, and motors, and position sensing devices.
- Diagnose and repair or replace faulty electronic components, including printed circuit boards.
- Install new motors, pumps, valves, and blast wheel components, and perform repairs as required.
- PUSH buttons and press keys on programmable controllers to program automated machinery, test for malfunctions, and verify repairs.
- Maintain steam, water, gas, and airlines, and perform repairs as necessary.
- Perform welding on ferrous metals as needed.
- Diagnose and replace faulty machinery, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- The ability to read and interpret documents, such as blueprints and maintenance manuals.
- Basic math skills.
- The ability to reason through and plan work details and procedures to obtain desired results.
