Position: EHS Specialist
Location: Vernon Hills, IL 60061
I am looking for a hands-on, proactive EHS professional to join our team and lead Environmental Health & Safety efforts manufacturing and packaging facility. This role plays a critical part in maintaining a safe, compliant, and sustainable workplace for our 150–200 team members, where precision, quality, and care are part of everything we do.
What you will do:
Champion a strong safety culture by leading site EHS programs—including our Safety Committee and machine guarding initiatives—with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Support and coach supervisors in addressing safety concerns and reducing risk, while also following up on internal and external audit findings.
- Conduct regular safety walks, inspections, and thorough incident investigations to ensure compliance with healthcare and environmental regulations (such as air permits and hazardous waste handling).
- Monitor, track, and report key EHS metrics—bringing forward recommendations and ensuring corrective actions are carried through.
- Develop and facilitate impactful safety training for employees, contractors, and visitors, making EHS expectations clear, engaging, and actionable.
What You Bring:
- A bachelor’s degree in EHS, Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certifications (CSP, CIH, CHMM) are a plus, especially in regulated or cleanroom environments.
- At least 2 years of EHS experience in manufacturing or project-based setting—experience in packaging or a clean facility is highly valued.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, you’re someone who takes initiative and follows through.
- Solid Microsoft Office skills: SharePoint experience is a bonus.
