Sterling Engineering is seeking a skilled Mechatronics Engineer to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing work in the maintenance, repair, installation, and replacement of electrical and mechanical equipment in our manufacturing plant.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair on facility mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment
- Conduct predictive and preventative maintenance duties on pumps, presses, valves, fans, and safety machine guards
- Manage the procurement and inventory of replacement parts, materials, tools, and spare parts
- Maintain and troubleshoot CNC and related machine shop equipment
- Collaborate with colleagues to build components for major plant projects/maintenance
- Operate and maintain forklifts and overhead cranes as required
- Manage spare parts inventory
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with engines, conveyors, electrical systems, CNC machinery, pneumatic tools, and hydraulic equipment
Required Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in industrial electro-mechanical settings
- Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge
- Ability to work safely with electrical systems up to 480-volt 3-phase
- HVAC experience an asset
- Desirable experience with PLC's and machining operations
