Overview
Sterling Engineering is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As an Industrial Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex machinery and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose problems with automated blast, paint booth, man-movers, cleaning systems, welding units, infrared drying ovens, programmable controllers, comfort heaters, boilers, air compressors, and mobile equipment.
- Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connect cables and wires between machines and equipment.
- Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replace damaged or broken cables.
- Test malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunctions with other maintenance workers, managers of maintenance, and other employees to diagnose issues.
- Replace faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, and motors; and position sensing devices.
- Diagnose and repair or replace faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
- Replace electric motor bearings and install motors, pumps, valves, and blast wheel components.
- Push buttons and press keys on programmable controllers to program automated machinery, test for malfunctions, and verify repairs.
- Maintain steam, water, gas, and airlines, and perform repairs as required.
- Perform welding on ferrous metals as required.
- Diagnose and replace faulty machinery, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints and maintenance manuals.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to reason through and plan work details and procedures to obtain desired results.
