Job Summary:
This role involves diagnosing problems and repairing various machines and equipment such as automated blast systems, paint booths, man-movers, cleaning systems, welding units, infrared drying ovens, programmable controllers, comfort heaters, boilers, air compressors, and mobile equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connect cables and wires between machines and equipment.
- Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replace damaged or broken cables.
- Test malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunctions with other maintenance workers, managers of maintenance, and other employees to diagnose issues.
- Replace faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, and motors; and position sensing devices.
- Diagnose and repair or replace faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
- Replace electric motor bearings and install motors, pumps, valves, and blast wheel components.
- Operate buttons and press keys on programmable controllers to program automated machinery, test for malfunctions, and verify repairs.
- Maintain steam, water, gas, and airlines and perform repairs as required.
- Perform welding on ferrous metals as required.
- Diagnose and replace faulty machinery, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints and maintenance manuals.
- Basic math skills.
- Able to reason through and plan work details and procedures to achieve desired results.
