About the Job
We are looking for a highly skilled Industrial Equipment Technician to join our team at Sterling Engineering. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing work in the maintenance, repair, installation, and replacement of electrical and mechanical equipment in our manufacturing plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair on facility mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment
- Conduct predictive and preventative maintenance duties on various equipment, including pumps, presses, valves, fans, and safety machine guards
- Procure and manage replacement parts, materials, tools, and spare parts as needed
- Maintain and troubleshoot CNC and related machine shop equipment
- Collaborate with colleagues to build components for major plant projects/maintenance
- Operate and maintain forklifts and overhead cranes as required
- Manage spare parts inventory
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with engines, conveyors, electrical systems, CNC machinery, pneumatic tools, and hydraulic equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in industrial electro-mechanical settings
- Proven mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work safely with electrical systems up to 480-volt 3-phase
- HVAC experience an asset
- Desirable experience with PLC's and machining operations
