Title: Maintenance & Reliability Engineer
Location: Gloucester, MA
Pay Rate: $90K-$115K

As a Maintenance & Reliability Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the plant’s assets and processes operate at optimum levels. Your primary focus will be on increasing equipment uptime and reliability using root cause analysis methodologies, equipment failure data, and predictive and preventative maintenance programs. You’ll be an essential part of the Seafood Center plant maintenance team, working closely with production, sanitation, and engineering groups to achieve operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and establish a Root Cause Analysis (RCA) team to identify issues and implement corrective actions aimed at mitigating downtime and improving efficiency.
- Audit and evaluate the effectiveness of existing preventive maintenance practices, establishing and monitoring performance metrics.
- Support the execution of department objectives, including maintenance programs, RCA, continuous training, and safety initiatives.
- Drive the migration from a reactive and preventative maintenance approach to a predictive maintenance program, utilizing operational data analysis.
- Provide engineering drawings and technical support for the fabrication of parts related to process improvements and spare parts.
- Re-engineer parts and components for optimization or fabrication when necessary.
- Work with equipment manufacturers to investigate and implement engineered process improvements to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
- Ensure manuals, spare parts, and safety protocols comply with departmental standards.
- Identify, manage, and execute capital projects aimed at operational improvements or equipment replacements.
- Collaborate with the Project Engineering team to support capital projects and new production line implementations.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment (Food/Beverage preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in maintenance, reliability, or industrial engineering.
- Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Proficiency in using CAD software (Solidworks, AutoCAD) is preferred.
- Skills:
- Ability to analyze and leverage data for decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills.
- Well-developed PC and software skills.
- Initiative-driven, self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and written skills.
Qualifications:
- Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Required Experience:
- 2 years of experience in maintenance, reliability, or industrial engineering.
- 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
