About the Position
This is an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer to join our team at Sterling Engineering. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing solutions to improve the efficiency and productivity of our manufacturing plant.
You will be responsible for performing a wide range of tasks, including design and development of new equipment, troubleshooting complex issues, and collaborating with other teams to implement process improvements.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair facility mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment
- Predictive and preventative maintenance duties on pumps, presses, valves, fans, and safety machine guards
- Source replacement parts, materials, tools, and spare parts as needed
- Monitor and maintain CNC and related machine shop equipment
- Assist in building components for major plant projects/maintenance
- Operate and maintain forklifts and overhead cranes as needed
- Maintain spare parts inventory
- Troubleshoot and maintain engines, conveyors, electrical systems, CNC machinery, pneumatic tools, and hydraulic equipment
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- 3-5 years of industrial electro-mechanical experience preferred
- Strong mechanical ability
- Electrical experience up to 480-volt 3-phase
- HVAC experience a plus
- Experience with PLC's desired
- Machining experience helpful
