Job Summary:
The EHS Specialist supports management in ensuring site compliance with all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations, policies, and procedures. This role is responsible for maintaining safety systems, conducting inspections, investigating incidents, and serving as a liaison with regulatory agencies.
Job Duties:
- Ensure site associates comply with all regulatory, plant, and corporate EHS policies and procedures.
- Complete and submit EHS reports accurately and on time.
- Maintain site safety systems, policies, and procedures.
- Inspect facilities, machinery, and equipment to identify potential hazards.
- Conduct accident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
- Act as the company representative in dealings with government agencies on EHS matters.
- Develop and implement health and safety procedures across all company areas.
- Prepare and conduct training on emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other EHS topics.
- Manage contractor EHS compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related scientific field.
- 3–5 years of hands-on EHS experience, ideally in chemical handling.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Ability to develop and deliver training materials using various media.
- CSP or CIH certification preferred; OSHA 30-hour certification required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
