This position requires a highly skilled and experienced individual with a strong understanding of industrial control systems and a proven ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve production equipment. The Senior Controls Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the manufacturing facility.
Job Duties :
Maintenance & Troubleshooting :
Maintain and document all electrical and control systems.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical and controls-related failures.
Coordinate and train Electro-Mechanics on all shifts.
Perform preventive, scheduled, and corrective maintenance.
Oversee equipment breakdowns and ensure timely repairs.
System Maintenance :
Maintain plant secondary systems (steam, water, air, power, etc.).
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Project Involvement :
Participate in control system projects, including design, installation, and commissioning.
Control Systems : Strong understanding of control system principles, including PLC programming, HMI design, and network configurations.
Software Proficiency : Expertise in PLC programming software (Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi), HMI software, and preventative maintenance software.
Electrical / Mechanical Knowledge : Familiarity with electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
Troubleshooting & Diagnostics : Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving equipment issues.
Qualifications :
Education : AS / AAS in Electrical / Electronic Engineering preferred, or equivalent experience.
Experience : Practical experience in a related field, with a strong background in machine and electrical control systems.
Licenses : May require various licenses depending on location.
Communication & Coordination : Ability to effectively communicate with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders.
