Job Summary:
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to support our quality system, manage KPI reporting, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. This role will also involve assisting with quality planning and providing guidance to personnel to ensure compliance with internal policies, customer requirements, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the quality system: Develop, implement, and maintain quality plans, documentation, procedures, and training programs.
- Address internal and external quality issues: Oversee corrective and preventive actions, ensuring timely resolution of quality-related concerns.
- Support contract reviews and customer change requests: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality compliance and effective communication with customers.
- Ensure proper inspection processes: Implement and maintain inspection processes for incoming materials, final QC, rework, scrap evaluation, and supplier quality.
- Conduct audits and inspections: Verify compliance with internal quality standards, customer requirements, and external regulations such as AAR and ISO.
- Maintain quality records: Ensure accurate and complete maintenance of quality records, including training, inspections, testing, and customer documentation.
- Evaluate suppliers and subcontractors: Assess supplier performance and maintain an approved vendor list.
- Coordinate customer inspections and inquiries: Respond to customer queries and schedule inspections as needed.
- Develop and deliver quality training: Design and deliver training programs for production staff on quality-related topics.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED; associate or bachelor's degree highly preferred.
- 3 years' experience as supervisor or quality lead in a manufacturing environment.
- Auditing and equipment inspection experience.
- AIAG Core Tools certification.
- Working knowledge and expertise in areas including machining, welding, assembly, mechanical devices.
- Previous training or ability to be trained on practical application of quality tools, including SPC, FMEA, Process Mapping, Control Plans, M-1003, or Greenbelt Certified/Trained.
- Ability to read and understand precision instruments, gauges, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- ASQ certification is a plus.
