Location: Chaska, MN
Salary Range: $68,000 - $85,000 per year

The Production Supervisor will oversee daily operations on the production line, ensuring adherence to safety, food safety, and production guidelines. Reporting to the Production Manager, this role involves supervising staff, managing performance, and maintaining compliance with regulatory and internal standards. Key responsibilities include leading shift operations, improving safety awareness, and implementing process improvements to meet performance targets. The ideal candidate will excel in team building, clear communication, and proactive problem-solving to maintain high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the highest standard for safety awareness, training completion, and accountability for unsafe behavior by personnel. Identify and execute opportunities for improvement.
- Organize and supervise operations and work practices throughout the shift, ensuring safety standards, performance standards, and customer specifications are met.
- Maintain business processes in support of food safety audits, regulatory requirements, and internal business control audits.
- Responsible for aspects of leading the staff including hiring, coaching, managing performance, and development planning.
- Lead entire shift operations while delivering key performance indicators (KPIs) such as safety, quality, cost, and service.
- Manage execution of daily management activities such as team meetings, shift exchanges, daily direction-setting, visual controls, and status-at-a-glance boards.
- Manage line equipment, employees, and raw materials to ensure all are prepared to meet production schedules and anticipate production needs.
- Actively work on building highly effective production teams through team building, clear communication, and provide ongoing coaching.
- Analyze causes of variances and scrap levels to implement improvements to meet efficiency targets and utilization.
- Coach employees in proper techniques and ensure adequate understanding to perform tasks assigned.
- Maintain and monitor all pre-requisite systems within the facility to ensure that all required documentation is consistently and accurately completed.
- Identify problems, coordinate, and facilitate cross-functional meetings as required to implement solutions related to safety, quality, and productivity.
- Verify the readiness of the production line at start-up and changeovers.
- Communicate with other departments in the bakery to address issues and maintain/elevate standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
- Implement process improvement initiatives.
- Analyze performance data to identify business opportunities.
- Other projects or duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED is required. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- 3-5 years of production supervisor experience in a food production environment.
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to learn and utilize SAP.
