Job Summary: The Purchasing Manager will oversee procurement activities to ensure the efficient sourcing and purchasing of materials to meet production and operational needs. This role requires expertise in Material Requirements Planning (MRP), a strong understanding of purchasing legalities, and experience in a build-to-order manufacturing environment. The Purchasing Manager will support engineering, sales, production, and accounts payable while managing key supplier relationships.
Salary Range: $90,000 to $110,000 (based on experience)

Job Duties:
- Manage the purchasing process, including supplier selection, negotiations, and contract management.
- Ensure procurement activities meet business requirements, including stocking and purchasing decisions.
- Maintain and optimize supplier relationships, with 80% of spend focused on 15 key suppliers for castings, forgings, and raw materials.
- Work with cross-functional teams to support engineering, sales, production, and accounts payable.
- Oversee the procurement of custom tubing, forging, and casting materials.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards and best purchasing practices.
- Utilize MRP systems to manage material planning and demand forecasting.
- Implement cost-saving strategies while maintaining quality and production timelines.
- Evaluate and improve purchasing processes to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Handle procurement for both core manufacturing needs and operational supplies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of purchasing experience, preferably in a build-to-order manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency in Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
- ISM certification and/or a degree in Supply Management preferred.
- Experience working in an ISO-certified facility.
- Successful negotiation experience with suppliers.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and decision-making skills.
- Experience purchasing castings, forgings, and other raw materials.
- Knowledge of purchasing legalities and best practices.
