Join the Repower Engineering Team as a seasoned Electrical Engineer (preferred) or Mechanical Engineer with a passion for hands-on, system-level design. We’re seeking an expert who thrives in fast-paced, high-impact environments and has a track record of delivering innovative solutions in the locomotive, heavy equipment, or industrial sectors. You’ll take charge of projects from concept to execution, ensuring seamless integration of product and system designs, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive success.
Key Responsibilities :
- Own the design and technical direction for locomotive and heavy equipment projects, overseeing both system and product-level solutions
- Lead the creation of tailored technical proposals for sales inquiries, while ensuring designs meet customer needs and regulatory requirements
- Perform hands-on design work, build prototypes, run tests, and lead field testing for certification and contract compliance
- Use 3D CAD tools to develop engineering documentation and specifications, translating complex requirements into actionable deliverables
- Drive efficiency in design to minimize costs and maximize performance, keeping projects on track and within scope
- Collaborate across departments (Operations, Sales, Manufacturing) to ensure seamless project execution
- Travel up to 25-30% for customer meetings and site visits
- 10 years of experience in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with a proven background in designing and testing complex systems
- Locomotive or heavy equipment experience highly preferred, especially in product / system-level design
- Proficiency with 3D CAD modeling and hands-on testing experience
- Ability to tackle technical challenges, from early-stage design to field implementation
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory standards (FRA, CFR, AAR) and industry best practices
- Strong communication skills to drive cross-functional collaboration and customer engagement
