What type of work will this role do?

• This position ensures the operation of machinery, automated systems, and mechanical equipment while working together with the Engineering department and other Maintenance Techs to maintain machine production capacity and quality.
• This is a permanent full-time, benefit eligible non-exempt position.

When and where will this role be working?

• This role works Monday through Thursday, 40 hours per week, in 10 hour shifts from 2:30pm to 1am.
• We are located across several buildings in the Spokane Industrial Park (at the north end of Spokane Valley near Trent).
• Work will be completed in a manufacturing environment where temperature and noise levels vary. You will frequently work near moving mechanical parts and be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Must be able to move and lift up to 50 lbs. Must have good manual dexterity and close vision capabilities.

What compensation is included for this role?

• The wage range for this position is $28.30 to $34.00 per hour, depending on experience level. This role also includes a $0.50/hr shift differential for a total wage of $28.80 to $34.50 per hour.

What type of essential duties will this role accomplish?

• Routine Maintenance – Ensure operation of a variety of mechanical equipment, automated machinery systems, and robotics by completing preventive maintenance.
• Problem Solving – Troubleshoot malfunctions and locate sources of problems in mechanical devices by observing, listening to, and/or using measuring and testing instruments on devices in operation. Read blueprints to assist in troubleshooting. Remove defective parts by dismantling devices. Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts. Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments. Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Inventory Management – Maintain inventories by checking stock; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; and verifying receipt. Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish tasks.
• Communication and Education – Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Prepare mechanical maintenance reports. Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests. Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and establishing personal networks.

What other duties will this role take on?

• Use a variety of tools, power tools, cranes, measuring instruments, etc., to complete job duties.
• Control downtime by informing production supervisors of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
• Maintain safe, clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related duties as assigned.

Does this role require any specific qualifications or experience?

• High school diploma or GED required with a minimum of 5 years' industrial maintenance experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• MUST have 1 year of automation & controls or robotics experience.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and written.
• You must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
