Sterling Ridge Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is looking for a Patient Access Supervisor to join our team!
This position would be overseeing our Schedulers and Check In/Check Out staff at all three locations (Spring, Woodlands and Montgomery). This position would be traveling to the three different offices, as needed.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Patient Access Supervisor is responsible for the administration of the business office side of the practice. The Patient Access Supervisor provides assist and supervision over daily operations and maintains workflow for assigned patient access system, such as scheduling, check in and check out. The Patient Access Supervisor directly supervises business office staff that are patient facing, giving them direction to meet the departmental goals and to assure appropriate personnel coverage to support the patients as well as the physicians. Ensures the business office is running smoothing by supervising and implementing policies and procedures for office staff, training, engaging and developing employees, and overseeing billing and collections, insurance verification processes, patient flow, and customer service aspects for the practice. Works closely with other Revenue Cycle Manager, Department Managers/Leads and Chief Operating Officer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Provides regular and on-going training (cross-training) for business office staff that are patient facing (scheduling, check in and check out)
- Frequent formal and informal meetings with business office staff and other department managers to foster engagement, development, and communication
- Prepares staffing schedules to ensure business office coverage
- Ensures accuracy and completeness of all check in and check out information
- Develops standards and provides systems to monitor and evaluate front desk functions and assumes responsibility for designing methods to improve in collaboration with Revenue Cycle Manager
- Works with Revenue Cycle Manager to provide monthly reports and identify outcomes and opportunity for improvements
- Collaborates with Revenue Cycle Manager to ensure efficiency of department processes including reconciliation of daily visits, charge tickets and cash drawer balancing
- Assists in the development and implementation of operating budgets for the business office and promotes cost containment and efficient use of business office resources
- Ensures resolution of escalated problems/issues within the department
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's Degree or advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of business office healthcare experience
- Minimum of 2-5 years of business office supervisor experience, healthcare environment preferred
