Infection Control Nurse
Location: Sitka, AK
Schedule: 8-Hour Day Shifts
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Pay Range: $70 - $75 per hour
We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Infection Control Nurse for a 13-week assignment in Sitka, Alaska. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the safety and health of patients and staff by implementing and overseeing infection prevention and control protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention and control policies.
- Conduct infection surveillance and analyze data to identify trends or outbreaks.
- Educate healthcare staff on best practices for infection prevention.
- Ensure compliance with CDC, OSHA, and state health regulations.
- Lead investigations and responses to healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).
- Collaborate with hospital leadership and clinical teams to promote safe care environments.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reporting.
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Alaska or compact state).
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in infection control or epidemiology preferred.
- Strong knowledge of infection prevention guidelines and regulatory standards.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
