- Perform wound dressing changes, utilizing appropriate techniques and materials to promote healing.
- Educate patients and their families on wound care practices, infection prevention, and self-management strategies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate discharge planning and follow-up care.
- Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology and current best practices in wound care management.
- Conduct triage assessments for patients presenting with acute wound-related issues.
- Monitor for signs of infection and implement infection control measures as necessary.
Skills
- Proficiency in medical office procedures and documentation practices.
- Strong understanding of discharge planning processes to facilitate smooth transitions of care.
- Experience with IV insertion techniques for medication administration when required.
- Familiarity with dermal fillers and their application in wound healing (preferred).
- Knowledge of acute care nursing principles relevant to wound management.
- Ability to effectively communicate medical terminology to patients and families.
- Competence in infection control practices to ensure patient safety during treatment.
