Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to provide excellent patient care on the Med-Surg floor. This role involves delivering comprehensive care to patients with a variety of medical conditions who require hospitalization. The ideal candidate will be proactive in providing compassionate care, ensuring patient safety, and working effectively with a collaborative healthcare team.

Duties

• Provide nursing care for patients with a wide range of medical conditions.
• Monitor patient conditions and take appropriate action for changes in status.
• Administer medications, treatments, and manage IV lines as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to develop care plans.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and post-hospital care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and document care in electronic health record systems such as Epic or Meditech.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, infection control measures, and patient privacy regulations.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall patient experience.

Experience

• MUST HAVE EPIC EXPERIENCE - NON-NEGOTIABLE
• 2 years of Current Med Surg - Required
• MUST be willing to float to other units as needed
• Peritoneal Dialysis training - Preferred
• Experience in Oncology Care and End Of Life Care - Highly Preferred but not required
• NO BLOCK SCHEDULING WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS NEED.
• Traveler candidate must have their own vehicle. This is a firm requirement.

Requirements

• Active RN license in NY.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification is preferred.
• Experience with electronic health record systems (Epic, Meditech, etc.) is preferred.
